What is the Media Control Panel
Solution Overview
The Media Control Panel is the eventual replacement of our original product known to most as "Cast-Control" or "Cast-Control Shoutcast Control Panel".

But what is the difference?
The MediaCP is a redevelopment of our original product to support more than just shoutcast, but other Media Services such as the following:
 - Shoutcast
 - Windows Media Services
 - Icecast
 - Stream Trascoder V3

As well as these services, the MediaCP supports Sources (previously known as AutoDJ) such as sc_trans v1, sc_trans v2, ices 0.4 (mp3), ices 2.0 (ogg), stream transcoder V3.

Will the shoutcastCP still be supported and receive updates?
The shoutcastCP will still be provided service updates, which include:
 - Problems & Bug Fixes
 - 3rd Party Software Upgrades (GeoIP Data, RRDTools, ect)

I've just purchased the ShoutcastCP, can i upgrade?
Of course you can, please review the bottom of our products page which contains detailed upgrade information:
Or contact our sales department or Live MSN Messenger Sales at support@cast-control.net (not an email, only live msn support)

The MediaCP costs alot, why is the cost so much?
To provide the best level of on-going development and support, we have decided upon a new pricing structure to target serious businesses ready to make a commitment to our product.
We will no longer be offering leased licenses as we believe that to venture into the Media Providing industry a commitment should be made, think of purchasing our control panel as a business investment.

Is the MediaCP difficult to install?
The control panel itself is a very simple web based installation - it is easily possible to install our control panel and shoutcast will automatically be installed/configured.

HOWEVER, saying this - many of the third party media services such as icecast, ices, ices 2.0, stream transcoder, windows media services ect require an advanced level of systems knowledge to install.
While our control panel will function without these services, it will not be possible to use these specifically if not configured on your system.

Why does Installation cost so much?

Our installation process takes our qualified contracted systems engineer sometimes up to 2 hours to install, we alone are billed for the majority of the installation cost.
On top of this, our qualified cast-control web technicians will install and configure the MediaCP on your system with all available features and functionality as well as any integrations with 3rd party software.

We configure the following services, so when you think about the time and effort we are not being paid much for this job. Your service provider will most likely charge a higher rate, however if you have a managed service they may be willing to install our control panel free of charge:
  • Control Panel Installation
  • Shoutcast 1.9.8 Configuration
  • Shoutcast Transcoder V1 & V2 Configuration
  • Icecast Compilation & Configuration
  • ICES 0.4 & 2.0 Compilation & Configuration *linux only*
  • Stream Transcoder V3 Compilation & Configuration
  • RRDTools Compilation & Configuration
  • Google Maps Configuration
  • Windows Media Services *windows only*
  • Active Directory *windows only*
  • WHMCS Integration *if requested*
